Burnet Avenue’s Revitalization

: PARTNER SPONSORS :

From Crime Spot to Prime Spot

With Speaker,
Tony T. Brown, President & CEO
Uptown Consortium

Join CREW as we learn about Burnet Avenue’s Revitalization from Crime Spot to Prime Spot presented by Mr. Tony T. Brown, President and CEO of the Uptown Consortium - Master Developer for the project.

Mr. Brown will discuss the unique community-wide redevelopment strategy that brought the Avondale Community Council together with residents and representatives of surrounding communities, and local churches and schools, to form the Burnet Avenue Revitalization Team (BART).

This team will monitor the implementation plan and ensure the design elements, UrbanScapes and warm neighborhood feel are maintained throughout each phase of the revitalization project. Construction is underway with Phase I plans to include street-level retail, office space and additional flex workforce space. Recruitment efforts for retail space will focus on recapturing the eclectic, urban, community setting of the Burnet Avenue of 30 years ago. Phase II plans include additional neighborhood retail and housing.
